The OINP Entrepreneur Stream is a provincial immigration program that allows entrepreneurs from outside of Canada to establish a new business or buy and grow an existing business in Ontario. The program is designed to attract and support entrepreneurs who have the skills, experience, and business plan to succeed in Ontario.
The Entrepreneur Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a provincial immigration program that allows entrepreneurs from outside of Canada to establish a new business or buy and grow an existing business in Ontario. The program is designed to attract and support entrepreneurs who have the skills, experience, and business plan to succeed in Ontario.
To be eligible for the Entrepreneur Stream, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have a net worth of at least $800,000 CAD if starting a new business in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), $400,000 CAD if starting a new business outside of the GTA, or $400,000 CAD if buying and growing an existing business in any region of Ontario.
- Have a business plan that is supported by a feasibility study and a letter of support from a business development organization.
- Intend to create at least two full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 4 in all four language skills).

- Fast processing time: The Entrepreneur Stream has a relatively fast processing time, with most applications being processed within 6 months.
- Ability to bring your spouse and children with you: Entrepreneurs who immigrate to Ontario through the Entrepreneur Stream can bring their spouse and dependent children with them.
- Access to Canadian social services and benefits: Once you immigrate to Ontario through the Entrepreneur Stream, you will be eligible for all of the social services and benefits that are available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
