Canada Start-Up Visa Program
The Canada Start-Up Visa Program is a federal immigration program that provides a pathway to permanent residence for foreign entrepreneurs who have innovative business ideas and the support of a designated venture capital (VC) fund or angel investor group.
To be eligible for the Start-Up Visa Program, you must:
- Have a business that is innovative and has the potential to create jobs in Canada.
- Have the support of a designated VC fund or angel investor group.
- Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 5 in English or NCLC 5 in French).
- Meet the minimum education requirements (high school diploma or equivalent).
- Have a valid passport or travel document.
- Meet the medical and security requirements.
If you are eligible for the Start-Up Visa Program
If your application is successful, you will be granted a temporary resident visa and will be able to come to Canada to start your business. Once your business has been operating for two years and you have met the other requirements of the program, you can apply for permanent residence.
