Canada Atlantic Immigration Program
The Canada Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who want to work and live in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island.
The AIP is an employer-driven program, meaning that employers must first be approved by the province to participate in the program. Once an employer is approved, they can offer job offers to qualified foreign workers and international graduates. The job offer must be in a skilled occupation that is in demand in the province.
To be eligible for the AIP, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have a job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada.
- Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 5 in English or NCLC 5 in French).
- Meet the minimum education requirements (high school diploma or equivalent for NOC 2021 TEER 2, 3, or 4 jobs; one-year Canadian post-secondary credential or equivalent for NOC 2021 TEER 0 or 1 jobs).
- Have a valid passport or travel document.
- Meet the medical and security requirements.
Once you have met all of the eligibility requirements. The processing time for AIP applications is typically 6-12 months.
