Northwest Territories Provincial Nominee Program

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) is a provincial nominee program (PNP) that allows the Northwest Territories to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada. The program is designed to attract skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who have the skills and experience to contribute to the territory’s economy.

There are currently three streams under the NTNP:

1. Employer Driven Stream: This stream is open to foreign nationals who have a job offer from a qualified Northwest Territories employer. Applicants must have the skills and experience required for the job offer.
2. Business Stream: This stream is open to foreign nationals who want to start, purchase, or invest in a business in the Northwest Territories. Applicants must have the business experience and financial resources to support the business.
3. Francophone Stream: This stream is open to French-speaking foreign nationals who want to live and work in the Northwest Territories. Applicants must have a valid job offer from a Northwest Territories employer or be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and experience to find employment in the territory.

To be eligible for the NTNP

Applicants must meet certain criteria, such as having the required skills and experience, meeting language requirements, and having a valid work permit or study permit (if applicable). Applicants must also demonstrate that they have the financial resources to support themselves and their family in Canada.

If your application is successful, you will receive a provincial nomination certificate. This certificate will give you an additional 600 points in the federal Express Entry system, which will almost guarantee that you will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
