Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program

Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a provincial nominee program (PNP) that allows Saskatchewan to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada. The program is designed to attract skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who have the skills and experience to contribute to the province’s economy.

There are currently six streams under the SINP:

  1. Express Entry Stream: This stream is open to candidates who have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system and who meet the eligibility requirements for the stream.
  2. Occupation In-Demand Stream: This stream is open to skilled workers who have the skills and experience needed in Saskatchewan’s labour market. Applicants must have a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer or be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and experience to find employment in the province.
  3. International Skilled Worker Stream: This stream is open to skilled workers who have the skills and experience needed in Saskatchewan’s labour market but do not have a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and be selected from the EOI pool.
  4. Saskatchewan Experience Stream: This stream is open to foreign nationals who have at least six months of full-time paid work experience in Saskatchewan in the past 12 months. Applicants must also have a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer.
  5. Entrepreneur Stream: This stream is open to international entrepreneurs who want to start or buy a business in Saskatchewan. Applicants must have a business plan and the financial resources to support the business.
  6. Farm Owner and Operator Stream: This stream is open to international nationals who want to start or buy a farm in Saskatchewan. Applicants must have the skills and experience to operate a farm and the financial resources to support the farm.

To be eligible for the SINP

Applicants must meet certain criteria, such as having the required skills and experience, meeting language requirements, and having a valid work permit or study permit (if applicable). Applicants must also demonstrate that they have the financial resources to support themselves and their family in Canada.

If you are eligible for the SINP

If your application is successful, you will receive a provincial nomination certificate. This certificate will give you an additional 600 points in the federal Express Entry system, which will almost guarantee that you will be invited to apply for permanent residence. The SINP is a popular choice for immigrants who want to live and work in Saskatchewan. The province has a strong economy and a diverse population, and it offers a variety of opportunities for skilled workers and entrepreneurs.

Here are some of the benefits through the SINP:

  • Faster processing times: Applications through the SINP are typically processed more quickly than applications through the federal Express Entry system.
  • Higher chance of receiving a permanent residence visa: Applicants who receive a provincial nomination certificate from Saskatchewan are almost guaranteed to be invited to apply for permanent residence.
  • Access to provincial support programs: Saskatchewan offers a variety of support programs for immigrants, such as language training, job search assistance, and settlement services.
