Yukon Provincial Nominee Program
The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is a provincial nominee program (PNP) that allows the Yukon to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada. The program is designed to attract skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who have the skills and experience to contribute to the Yukon’s economy.
There are currently four streams under the YNP:
- Express Entry Stream: This stream is open to candidates who have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system and who meet the eligibility requirements for the stream.
- Skilled Worker Stream: This stream is open to skilled workers who have the skills and experience needed in the Yukon’s labour market. Applicants must have a job offer from a Yukon employer or be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and experience to find employment in the territory.
- Entrepreneur Stream: This stream is open to international entrepreneurs who want to start or buy a business in the Yukon. Applicants must have a business plan and the financial resources to support the business.
- Critical Impact Worker Stream: This stream is open to skilled workers who are in critical occupations in the Yukon. Applicants must have a job offer from a Yukon employer and meet the eligibility requirements for the stream.
To be eligible for the YNP
Applicants must meet certain criteria, such as having the required skills and experience, meeting language requirements, and having a valid work permit or study permit (if applicable). Applicants must also demonstrate that they have the financial resources to support themselves and their family in the Yukon.
If you are eligible for the YNP
If your application is successful, you will receive a provincial nomination certificate. This certificate will give you an additional 600 points in the federal Express Entry system, which will almost guarantee that you will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
The YNP is a popular choice for immigrants who want to live and work in the Yukon. The territory has a strong economy and a diverse population, and it offers a variety of opportunities for skilled workers and entrepreneurs.
Here are some of the benefits of immigrating through the YNP:
- Faster processing times: Applications through the YNP are typically processed more quickly than applications through the federal Express Entry system.
- Higher chance of receiving a permanent residence visa: Applicants who receive a provincial nomination certificate from the Yukon are almost guaranteed to be invited to apply for permanent residence.
- Access to provincial support programs: The Yukon offers a variety of support programs for immigrants, such as language training, job search assistance, and settlement services.
